Partner of the Year - Energy Management
Clarion Partners

Clarion Partners is a real estate investment firm. Clarion leveraged ENERGY STAR® resources to grow its comprehensive energy management program, with a focus on internal and external stakeholder engagement. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Achieving ENERGY STAR certification for 115 properties.
  • Developing an environmental, social, and governance data management guide to support property managers as they navigate ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager®, as well as its other tracking platforms.
  • Piloting enhanced green property condition assessments on a select group of properties with the goal of identifying actionable decarbonization opportunities. Properties were selected for this pilot based on data in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
  • Installing electric shadow meters at 198 industrial properties, accounting for 33% of the industrial portfolio and 20% of the entire portfolio by square footage.
  • Conducting its annual awareness campaign series for energy, water, and waste during the months of September, October, and November, respectively. Posters related to each awareness campaign were distributed and used by property teams to promote resource conservation and provide actionable tips for building tenants.
  • Conducting a sustainability survey to gather property-level information, such as the percentage of ENERGY STAR appliances and equipment and LED lighting in place at each asset. The responses are cross-checked with each property’s ENERGY STAR score to inform prioritization for efficiency projects.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
