CenterPoint Energy is a transmission and distribution utility serving the greater Houston area. The utility incentivized the construction of more than 3,500 ENERGY STAR® certified homes, for a total exceeding 121,000 homes since joining the program in 2001. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Implementing a comprehensive ENERGY STAR promotional campaign that delivered more than 12 million impressions across social media channels.
  • Introducing an updated program design with larger ENERGY STAR incentives for builders to achieve above-code results, as well as new rebates for ENERGY STAR certified electric vehicle chargers and induction cooktops.
  • Significantly increasing ENERGY STAR-focused email campaigns, including market-segmented and tailored messaging based on age range and other demographic factors.
  • Delivering cumulative verified meter savings of 255 MW and 500,000 MWh since the inception of the program in 2001.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
