BOMA Georgia

BOMA Georgia is a trade association for commercial real estate professionals. BOMA Georgia conducted a campaign to educate the real estate community about ENERGY STAR® and encouraged the industry to pursue energy conservation and sustainable building practices. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

• Achieving ENERGY STAR Tenant Space recognition for its headquarters.
• Hosting its annual ENERGY STAR Month campaign for real estate industry stakeholders, using BOMA Georgia’s Commercial Real Estate Insight Journal and website to educate and inform the real estate community.
• Releasing weekly content throughout its campaign, covering topics such as tracking energy usage, achieving green certifications such as ENERGY STAR, developing a building roadmap for sustainability, energy efficiency solutions for facility management, and energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
• Producing a Building Optimization Seminar through its BOMA Technical Organization. This 3-hour seminar emphasized the importance of maximizing energy efficiency in buildings, including the use of ENERGY STAR tools and resources such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager®.
• Hosting the CRE Forward ESG Summit7 to educate commercial real estate professionals about environmental, social, and governance principles, with several presentations related to ENERGY STAR.
• Highlighting its involvement with ENERGY STAR Tenant Space recognition in two articles: “Lessons from a Green Decade” by the American Society of Association Executives and “Evolution of BOMA Georgia’s Comprehensive Approach to Environmental Sustainability” by the Georgia Society of Association Executives.
