The American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association is a society whose members design, build, and operate health care facilities. ASHE has used ENERGY STAR® as a foundation for its Energy to Care program, helping hospitals achieve $900 million in energy savings since 2010. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Benchmarking more than 3,800 healthcare facilities in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager® and using ENERGY STAR scores as the basis of its awards program.
  • Training 40 conference participants to identify more than $850,000 in hospital energy savings at an event modeled after an ENERGY STAR Treasure Hunt.
  • Sharing ENERGY STAR program updates, strategies, and best practices through its newsletter, magazine for members, committees, social media channels, and annual conferences.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
