ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence
The Joint Management Committee (JMC), the sponsor of the Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR, is a multiutility and energy efficiency service provider effort, including Bay State Gas, Berkshire Gas, Cape Light Compact, New England Gas, National Grid Gas & Electric, NSTAR Gas & Electric, and Western Massachusetts Electric Company. This joint effort is receiving ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence recognition for the first time this year for its ongoing accomplishments. Key achievements in 2009 include:
Recruiting 255 new home builder partners into the ENERGY STAR program.
Providing training for more than 1,700 home builders, contractors, and architects on the proposed ENERGY STAR new homes specification.
Recruiting over 2,000 new homes slated for 2010-2015 completions.
Completing approximately 1,900 new homes, saving homeowners 2,500 kW of summer and 2,900 kW of winter peak demand savings for Massachusetts homeowners in 2009.
