Integrating Action Items into a Company's Operating Plan
Brown Printing Company's energy action plan is an integration of energy related activities, projects, investments and communication for all employees as a top consideration to the company's business strategy. Action items are integrated into the company's operating plan to build energy awareness through the following avenues: priority lists from audits, purchasing policy and procedures to secure energy efficient parts and supplies, capital planning on which all capital investment considers energy efficiency, employee education and engagement at department meetings and trainings for energy efficiency with all operating practices, and a communication plan. No investment of capital or maintenance expenditure is made without considering the potential savings in energy, potential grant or rebate and for operations. Furthermore, a communication plan is in place each year to educate and engage Brown's employees, the surrounding communities, the company's industry partners/suppliers, and other businesses in the region, and their customers.
