The district's mission is to provide a positive learning environment with a comprehensive support system allowing students to reach high levels of achievement. Through conscientious energy management and investing in energy efficient, ENERGY STAR certified buildings, the district is able to provide and maintain healthy classroom spaces. An ENERGY STAR Partner since 2006, the district has also formed partnerships with the Kentucky Energy Efficiency Program for Schools (KEEPS), the Kentucky National Energy Education Development Project (KY NEED), and Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools (KGHS).

Bullitt County Public School District has been recognized by EPA as an ENERGY STAR Leader for improving the performance of its facilities by more than 10 percent compared to a 2005 baseline and as a Top Performer for achieving an average ENERGY STAR energy performance score of 81 across its portfolio of buildings. The district has invested in renovations and new construction, including geothermal HVAC systems and insulated concrete forms (ICF); an extensive building automation and monitoring system with Harshaw-Trane; and a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
