Riverside Unified School District has been recognized by EPA as an ENERGY STAR Top Performer for achieving a portfolio-wide average ENERGY STAR score of 84 in EPA's ENERGY STAR measurement and tracking tool, Portfolio Manager. As of January 2011, 45 of the district's buildings earned a score of 75 or higher. The district has avoided over 760 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions, the equivalent of more than 19,500 tree seedlings planted and grown for 10 years!
