Parkwood Place I was built in 2006 at 5601 Democracy in the Legacy Business Park. This three-story, multi-tenant office building is home to tenants including Highland Homes, Optimal Blue, and Plano Wellness Center. Transwestern has managed the building since KBS purchased the property four years ago. Current ownership belongs to EOS Acquisition II, LLC. Parkwood Place I earned the ENERGY STAR in 2008 for its superior operating efficiency. In 2010, the building was awarded LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The roof package units are energy-efficienct Lennox A/C units with variable frequency drives and economizers.
