The classically designed Kittredge Building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.  Built in 1891 by Charles Marble Kittredge, it was designed by A. Morris Stuckert, a prominent Denver architect. It was one of the first buildings west of the Mississippi River to have an elevator and clay tile fireproofing. The granite for the exterior of the basement through the 2nd floor and the rhyolite for the 3rd floor to the roof was quarried in Colorado.

Shortly after its renovation in 1981, this landmark building was recognized as the Best Historic Preservation Project in Downtown Denver by the Downtown Denver Partnership, and in 2004, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International named the Kittredge Building Denver's Office Building of the Year in the Historic Building category.

Located in the heart of the Central Business District on the 16th Street Mall, directly across the street from the Denver Pavilions, the Kittredge Building has two of Denver's most popular full-service casual dining restaurants on its ground floor: the Paramount Caf? and the more upscale Marlowe's restaurant.

Building door staff are on-site 24/7, with an on-duty doorman positioned at the lobby desk during business hours and all other times with the exception of scheduled after-hours rounds. Other building amenities include card key access, on-site management, bicycle storage, shower facilities, and a rooftop garden pavillion.

The building has been under the same private ownership and management since 1981 with a "Class A" focus on minimizing expense stop costs without compromising building integrity or tenant satisfaction.

The Kittredge Building earned the ENERGY STAR for superior energy performance in 2010.  Energy upgrades in 2010 included a new energy-efficient centrifigul chiller and tower, new energy management software, and new individual office temperature controls for both A/C and heat.  Additional energy upgrades scheduled for late 2010 and early 2011 include a complete building lighting upgrade with integration of lighting controls into the energy management software.
