Owned and managed by Hines, Douglas Corporate Center I (2999 Douglas Boulevard) is one of two buildings in this prestigious office campus, located in the Roseville submarket of Sacramento, California. Completed in 1990, Douglas Corporate Center I is a three-story, 103,000-square-foot building, with an exterior of two-tone architectural precast and dark-gray reflective glass. Tenant amenities include an on-site health club, a conference center and a coffee shop/delicatessen.

 

Douglas Corporate Center I earned the ENERGY STAR for superior energy performance through energy-efficient elements of the original design, infrastructure retrofits, and active management of energy consumption. Original features include the use of insulated reflective glass, which helps to reduce heat loss in cool weather while reducing thermal gain from sunshine. In 2009, a retrofit project included optimizing the HVAC systems and the recommissioning, reprogramming, and custom tuning of an automated digital building energy management system (EMS). The latter gives property managers the ability to both monitor the property's energy consumption in real time and to control it by setting optimal HVAC start/stop times, defining temperature setpoints, and even controlling lighting and other building systems.
