The Atrium Two building is an elegant 800,000 square foot, 30 floor class "A" high-rise office building, with a three level 150 vehicle private parking garage. It is located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, at the corner of Fourth Street and Sycamore Street. Atrium Two is own by The State Teachers Retirement Board of Ohio and managed by CB Richard Ellis.
Built in 1984 and designed by Skidmore, Owing and Merrill Design, the entrance of Atrium Two is a five story winter garden green house structure. Its walls and floor are clad in cream-colored travertine stone with its exquisite interior and exterior landscaping and flower decor in Mahogany planters and two fountains providing a breathtaking and extremely unique environment. The neon lighting and exterior floodlights graciously illuminate the building step balcony structure, dramatically high lights the Cincinnati night skyline overlooking the Great American Ball Park, Home of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team, and the Ohio River. Topping off Atrium Two roof top is a 65 foot flag pole with a 20x30 foot United States of American flag, the largest flag in downtown Cincinnati.
The main mechanical cooling plant was upgraded in 2005 with two 600 ton York Millennium Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) chillers, primary and secondary pumps with two Yaskawa Variable Frequency Drive controls and five new banks of Baltimore Aircoil Cross flow Cooling Towers each with Yaskawa Variable Frequency Drive controls. The web-based building Energy Management System is Innovative Energy Solutions was upgraded in 2004. Atrium Two received the Building Owners and Managers Association of greater Cincinnati, (BOMA) "Office Building of the Year Award" in the category of buildings over 500,000 square feet and the Excellence in Lighting Award from Cinergy.
