The faculty and staff of Brandywine Springs Elementary School strive to help all students achieve academic excellence by providing the best teaching practices in a secure, loving environment. Brandywine Springs reopened after more than 20 years to provide additional classroom space and advance the district's goal of providing K-5 elementary schools districtwide. During an 18-month evaluation of all of its facilities, Red Clay Consolidated School District worked with the community to evaluate the existing building conditions and future educational needs of the school.

The facility was found to be in excellent condition. During the assessment process, the only facility improvement recommended was to provide air-conditioning within the school auditorium and any additional support systems required. The cost for this renovation was half a million dollars.

An ENERGY STAR partner since 2007, Red Clay Consolidated School District followed ENERGY STAR Guidelines for Energy Management throughout the design and completion of this major capital project. As a result, the school earned the ENERGY STAR in 2008 for superior energy efficiency. Data compiled through Portfolio Manager help school officials ensure that they maximize the use of their energy resources.
