The Summit Executive office is a four-story commercial office building located at 190 River Road, Summit, NJ. The building, constructed in 1971, is owned and occupied by Wells Fargo Bank and managed by Cushman & Wakefield. Recognizing the potential to improve the building's energy and financial performance, C&W turned to the proven strategy of EPA's ENERGY STAR program for the tools and resources necessary to help achieve superior energy performance when awarded the management contract in 2006.
Included in the improvements made over the years are new variable frequency drives (VFDs), temperature standardization and optimization, lighting retrofit projects, roof replacement, building automation system (BAS) tune up and reprogramming, implementation of group cleaning, motion sensor switches, upgraded elevator controls, and a "turn-it-off" program for all employees to turn lights off when leaving the office, pantry, or conference room. With steady progress and focus, the baseline energy performance score rose from 60 to 80. The goal is to keep it up with the help and support of all Wells Fargo employees. Together, we will continue to lower the carbon footprint and save energy at the same time.
Communications:
In 2008, our energy awareness activities included an Earth Day event during which vendors were invited to display energy-saving products with free gifts to employees as a way of promoting energy efficiency and educating occupants about its importance. In 2009, there was temperature standardization for all properties throughout the country. Volunteers were trained to assist with temperature control issues and energy monitors. The turn-it-off program was launched and implemented across the board. The ENERGY STAR plaque in the lobby of The Summit Executive office is sign of focus and commitment to energy conservation by Wells Fargo and Cushman & Wakefield.
