The Exposition Building is a 68,157-square-foot, 3-story office building located in Sacramento, CA that serves approximately 200 employees. The building was constructed in 2004 utilizing many energy-saving and efficient materials and components, including lighting and a sophisticated HVAC system. These functions include light sensors and daylight dimming controls, individual task lighting, and occupancy sensors that turn lights off in unoccupied rooms.The heating and cooling system utilizes multiple set points throughout the day, weekend, and scheduled holiday settings; air economizers for cool fresh air pumped into the building at night; and variable air volume (VAV) controls with many zones per floor, allowing for more economical set points while providing for specific temperature adjustments by specific zones when areas require temperature modifications. Making additional adjustments and minor modifications to the HVAC system and improving materials purchases for lighting systems have further benefited the building. A cooperative effort with the tenant and the waste company to improve the recycling program for the building has also been implemented.
