The Adobe Towers are the headquarters buildings for software giant Adobe Systems Incorporated. Adobe partners with Cushman & Wakefield to provide their facilities management services. The buildings consist of three corporate headquarters buildings with a combined total of 939,358 square feet of office space, resting atop 938,473 square feet of semi-enclosed parking garage, five stories above ground and two stories below ground. The West Tower was completed in 1996, the East Tower in 1998, and the Almaden Tower in 2003. The buildings are 18, 16 and 17 stories high respectively. Driven by a core belief that corporations have a responsibility to their local community and the global environment, Adobe Systems Incorporated has consistently taken a strong, pro-active approach to resource conservation, waste reduction, environmental protection, and sustainability with its use of state-of-the-art technology.



In 2001, California experienced an energy crisis.  Like many large California companies, Adobe responded to the governors request to reduce energy use by 10%. Not satisfied with just meeting that goal, however, Adobe determined to make controlling energy use in the workplace an essential component of its long-term planning.

Since that time, the Cushman & Wakefield team, on behalf of Adobe, has implemented over 64 energy and energy-related conservation projects at a cost of $1.4 million with an annual cost savings of $1.2 million. Some of the projects included in the conservation effort include installation of variable frequency drive's on main supply fans, centrifugal chillers and other large motors, occupancy control of HVAC for 201 conference and meeting rooms, occupancy controlled stairwell lighting, rescheduling of garage fans and lighting operations, retrofitting first generation T8's to latest generation T8 lamp and ballasts, installation of occupancy controlled plug load strips in all offices, rewiring of lighting circuit zones and installation of real-time monitoring technology in order to effectively participate in state sponsored Demand Response programs, to name just a few.

In addition to the ENERGY STAR labels, Adobe Towers has been recognized by California's Flex Your Power program as "Best Overall" for Best Practices in Energy Management for Commercial Office Buildings in the State of California, by the Association of Energy Engineers as Energy Project of the Year, and all three towers have been certified as Green Buildings at the platinum (highest) level in the USGBC's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB).
