Managed by Hines, 2929 Briarpark is a six-story, 140,000-square-foot office building in the southwest Houston district of Westchase, only blocks from the convenient west-side artery Beltway 8. The design, by Robert Husmann & Associates, includes a dramatic central atrium that fills 2929 Briarpark with natural sunlight and highlights a handsome staircase that allows access to the second floor. The commuting convenience of the Beltway 8 location is supported by a 486-space parking structure on the premises.
The original design, including highly reflective glass curtain walls, and the retrofitting of its energy consuming infrastructure resulted in the ENERGY STAR for 2929 Briarpark. These retrofits included the full replacement of building lighting fixtures with high-efficiency fluorescent lamps, and the replacement of several chilling units in the building HVAC systems. In addition, variable frequency drives (VFDs) were installed on 12 of 2929 Briarpark's air handling units allowing their operation to correspond closely with actual demand.
