National City Plaza
155 East Broad Street
Columbus, OH 43215
National City Plaza is a striking, 24-story commercial office building in downtown Columbus, Ohio and home to prominent professional service firms.
Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and constructed in 1976, National City Plaza's white, marble-clad exterior makes a distinguishable impression. Managing Partner, Arthur Goldner & Associates, Inc., and on-site management and engineering team of CB Richard Ellis have implemented numerous efficiency measures in operations, including mechancial and electrical improvements to reduce overall energy consumption.
ENERGY STAR certification at National City Plaza was enabled through a lighting retro-fit to T-8 lamps, electronic ballasts, compact fluorescents, and LED exit lighting throughout the building. 8 elevators were modernized, variable frequency control drives were installed on all air handler units and cooling tower fans, and occupancy sensors were installed on all newly constructed tenant spaces. Water consumption has been realized through installation of automatic faucets and flush valves in common area restrooms. Additional focus on energy consumption is made with contracted service providers to ensure active partnering in energy saving initiatives.
The recognition of ENERGY STAR certification provides another dynamic to attract prospective tenants to National City Plaza.
