Map It!
The American Book Building was originally built in 1904 for the American Book Company. For seventy years it served as their offices and the majority of the space was dedicated for printing presses for McGuffy Readers. In 1974 it was placed on the Historical Register in the Lytle Place District of Downtown Cincinnati.
The David J. Joseph Company purchased the building in 1980 & converted it to office space. The renovation included replacement of all electric, mechanical & plumbing systems and restoring the exterior to the original architecture. The building now serves as the corporate headquarters for The David J. Joseph Company along with two floors leased to law firms.
In 2008 we replaced the building centrigual chiller with a Frictionless Chiller. The estimated annual energy savings on this project is $25,000.
