The ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston/RDO Frozen Foods plant in Park Rapids, Minnesota, is situated in the Upper Midwest?s potato growing region. The plant produces frozen potato products, including french fries in a variety of cuts, as well as hash browns, Potato Stix, Tater Roundabouts? and Tater Puffs?.  Products are distributed to restaurants and retail grocery stores throughout North America.

The plant?originally constructed in 1981?became associated with Lamb Weston in 1992.  A joint-venture agreement was formed in 1995 between Lamb Weston and RD Offutt Co. to form Lamb Weston/RDO Frozen Foods.

Significant expansions in the mid- to late- 1990s, in addition to other facility modifications, have tripled the original production capacity of the plant.

ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston seizes every opportunity to preserve and protect vital natural resources by managing energy and water usage, and by reducing waste and pollution.  The Park Rapids plant is dedicated to energy efficiency, as evident in the following features:

?         A state-of-the-art waste treatment facility that generates renewable energy in the form of biogas from an anaerobic reactor. The biogas is combusted in the boilers to reduce natural gas usage.

?         Dehumidification processes reduce energy needed for heating and cooling.

?         Continuous process improvements reduce energy consumption.

?         Water, natural gas, and power usage are benchmarked and tracked daily, to ensure responsible use of resources.

The Park Rapids plant earned ENERGY STAR certification for the first time in 2010.
