520 N. 6th Street
Richmond, IN 47375
Richmond Baking was founded in 1902 by William H. Quigg in Richmond, IN and is the oldest family-owned cookie and cracker baker in the United States. The bakery began as a corner steam powered bakery, producing cookies, crackers, cakes, donuts and a variety of baked goods. In 1923, Richmond Baking moved to its present location, a 5 story brick factory. Manufacturing is performed utilizing a lot of gravity, as mixing occurs on the 5th and 4th floors, forming and baking on the 3rd floor, and packaging on the 2nd and 1st floor. The 1st floor also houses the warehouse for finished goods.
150 team members are employed at the facility. Products produced include contract manufactured cookies, as well as graham and cookie crumbs for the dessert and ice cream industries, and breadings for the prepared meat and vegetable industry.
New lighting systems and new oven burner systems were installed to improve the plants energy efficiency. 2010 was the first year Richmond Baking was ENERGY STAR certified.
