Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA) is a community-owned utility that offers electric, water, wastewater, natural gas, Internet services, and fiber optics. Our mission is: To provide our customers with economical, reliable, and friendly service in a continuous effort to enhance the quality of life in our community. FPUA operates as an enterprise fund of the City of Fort Pierce, Florida and is governed by a five-member board - four City Commission appointees and the Mayor. Through a designated formula, FPUA shares revenues with the City. The amount transferred during the last 35 years is over $93.5 million. FPUA employs about 300 people who serve over 27,000 electric, 17,900 water, 13,500 wastewater, and 4,400 natural gas customers in Fort Pierce and portions of St. Lucie County. In order to save resources and money, FPUA follows a conservation plan that includes purchasing office equipment and lighting that meet ENERGY STAR specifications. We also offer Energy Star Rebates.
