The City of Elgin is undertaking the creation of a Sustainable Master Plan that will guide the future of the community over the next 50 years and beyond. A big part of the plan is centered on lowering our carbon footprint which starts in large part to our energy usage. Residents and commercial businesses are being encouraged to get started by making the most obvious changes to the way they use energy on a day by day basis.
