Spangdahlem Air Base

Take the ENERGY STAR Pledge

The 52 FW activated at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, on 31 December 1971. With the 1993 restructuring of the United States (US) Air Force, the 52d reconfigured its fighter squadrons; the 22d and 23rd Fighter Squadrons (FS) were assigned the F-16 aircraft, and the 81st FS employed A-10 aircraft. The 52 FW is currently the largest and most diverse fighter wing in Europe.
