Fanwood Environmental Commission

The Fanwood Environmental Commission is a statutory board of 8 regular members, two alternates as well as the Liaisons to Planning Board & Town Council. Our charge includes studying & making recommendations concerning open space preservation, water resource management, air pollution control, solid waste management, noise control, soil & landscape protection, environmental appearance, & protection of flora & fauna. We promote the conservation, protection, development, or use of all Fanwood's natural and water resources by: 1. Planning & implementing local conservation programs 2. Compiling an ERI compendium 3. Making recommendations on all development plans before the Planning Board with a focus on how it would impact our environment. 4. Conducting Outreach programs to raise awareness on environmental issues. 5. Preparing & distributing appropriate advertising materials 6. Acting as Township liaison for conservation needs with regional, state, and federal agencies.
