The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government lies at the heart of Kentuckys Bluegrass Region. The county is defined by 283 square miles of gentle rolling plateau and is home to a population of approximately 280,000. In order to preserve its unique cultural heritage and quality of life, LFUCG recognizes that the City of Lexington must be a sustainable community. Pursuant to Executive Order 2009-04, LFUCG is taking the ENERGY STAR Challenge to improve the energy efficiency of its buildings by 10% or more and to encourage the community to do the same.
