Pennridge School District is located approximately 30 miles north of Philadelphia in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Covering eight municipalities, the district educates about 7,200 K-12 students in facilities encompassing 1.4 million square feet of space. In partnership with families and the local community, the mission of Pennridge School District is to provide all students with numerous and varied opportunities to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to grow into healthy, productive citizens equipped for life-long learning. Pennridge School District has been recognized by EPA as an ENERGY STAR Leader for improving the energy efficiency of its facilities by more than 30 percent compared to a 2006 baseline. This success is a direct result of the commitment and dedication of the district community to becoming energy efficient. The district's energy efficiency program has saved in excess of $1.8 million in energy costs in fewer than four years. Compared to its baseline year, the district currently prevents the emissions of more than 3,100 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually, which is equivalent to the carbon sequestered by more than 80,000 tree seedlings planted and grown for 10 years.
