In February 2005, the U.S. Department of Energy announced new display unit labeling guidelines for manufacturers and retailers of windows, doors, and skylights.
Display units are defined as complete product samples displayed in showrooms, trade shows, and other locations, and whole or partial portable units, such as sample cut-away corners (“corner cuts”), used for sales purposes.

The display unit labels are for partner use only. They are for display units only and are not a new or alternative method for labeling products intended for installation.
January 2007 – Bilingual (English/Spanish) labels are now available for partner use and can be downloaded below. Please adhere to the following size specifications (bilingual labels only):
Follow the instructions in the Display Unit Labeling Guidelines to identify the right label for your display units. There are two types of labels:
A standard version exists and it is ENERGY STAR qualified in one or more climate zones.
