Television Specification

The Version 4.0 and 5.0 ENERGY STAR Specifications for Televisions have been finalized as of September 3, 2009. These requirements establish challenging On Mode power consumption levels, take steps to ensure a TV is viewed in the mode in which it qualified for ENERGY STAR so consumer savings are realized, and curb energy associated with downloading program guide data. The effective date for the Version 4.0 requirements in this specification is May 1, 2010. The effective date for the Version 5.0 requirements is May 1, 2012.
