The Version 6.0 ENERGY STAR specification for Televisions is currently under development. Materials related to this revision process are provided below. Stakeholders who received past communications related to development of Version 5 will continue to receive updates on this development effort. EPA has released the Final Draft Version 6.0 ENERGY STAR Specification for Televisions, and the Final Draft and associated documents are available at the links below. Stakeholders are invited to review these documents and submit comments to EPA via email to televisions@energystar.gov by Wednesday, July 25, 2012.
EPA presented stakeholders with a proposed approach for qualifying televisions with Automatic Brightness Control (ABC) enabled by default. Stakeholders are invited to review the document and submit comments via email to televisions@energystar.gov by May 31, 2012.
As discussed during the Draft 2 Version 6.0 Televisions Webinar, held February 15, 2012, DOE and EPA have released a proposal to test and record the power consumption of televisions with data/network capability connected in Standby-Active, Low Mode as defined by the DOE Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) for Television Sets (TVs).
The Draft 2 Version 6.0 ENERGY STAR Televisions specification was released on February 3, 2012. Manufacturers and other stakeholders are strongly encouraged to e–mail feedback on this Draft 2 specification to televisions@energystar.gov by March 2, 2012.
EPA will hold a stakeholder webinar to discuss the Draft 2 specification and related documents on February 15, 2012, from 1pm–3pm Eastern Time.
