  • An ENERGY STAR certified computer will use between 30 percent and 65 percent less energy depending on how it is used.

Note: The lower percentage of savings (30%) is based on a new ENERGY STAR qualified desktop computer (enabled) compared to a new standard desktop computer (enabled). The higher percentage of savings (65%) is based on a new ENERGY STAR qualified desktop computer (enabled) compared to a new standard desktop computer (not enabled). In all cases the computers were turned off at night.
