3. B. CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONER
- Central air conditioners that have earned the ENERGY STAR are 15 percent more efficient than conventional models.
Source: U.S. EPA - If your central air conditioning unit is more than 12 years old, replacing it with a model that has earned the ENERGY STAR could cut your cooling costs by 30 percent. These savings would prevent 1,600 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
