About Home Performance with ENERGY STAR
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, administered nationally by the U.S. Department of Energy in conjunction with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, offers a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving energy efficiency and comfort of homes, while helping to protect the environment. Currently, more than 2,000 contractors participate in Home Performance with ENERGY STAR through locally sponsored programs, and more are joining every day!
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR reaches 330,000 completed projects in 2013!
Thanks to efforts of participating contractors and local HPwES Sponsors, more than 330,000 homeowners are experiencing the benefits of high quality home performance work.
Participating contractors know what energy efficiency improvements will benefit homeowners and are equipped with specialized training and diagnostic tools to determine how their homes are performing. You can assist homeowners in achieving their goals, whether it's improving comfort, cutting energy costs, or protecting the environment. As a participating contractor, you will have an edge over your competition because local Sponsors perform third party quality assurance checks on your work and homeowners can be confident their energy efficiency improvements are high quality. Plus, Home Performance with ENERGY STAR offers contractors marketing support and association with ENERGY STAR.

If there is not a local Sponsor currently in your region, Home Performance with ENERGY STAR encourages interested contractors to reach out to state or local government energy offices or agencies, utilities, clean energy non-profits with existing residential energy programs, or industry trade groups. Together, industry stakeholders are promoting policies that foster the development of local programs.
