GE, the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) and the State of Illinois welcome the national bus tour to Hallowgreen, a Chicago consumer event being held at Navy Pier Saturday, October 13, 2007 from 10:00am–5:00pm. The event will take place in Gateway Park, where Navy Pier is transformed into Navy Fear for the month of October. GE and co-sponsors MEEA and the State of Illinois will join the festivities and present the Hallowgreen celebration, which will include Halloween masks and temporary tattoos for children, $1 off coupons, question & answer wheel with prize giveaways, a 12 foot tall inflatable compact fluorescent light bulb and various energy saving demonstrators.
Signage will be displayed at the event site and throughout the Pier, including table top signs at Pier restaurants. Visitors will be encouraged to pledge to change one light bulb in their home to help conserve energy.
The ENERGY STAR bus will be the center of attention. Cars, buses and cabs entering the Pier will be able to check out the bus as they drive by, and all visitors will be welcome to stop and check out the bus' traveling Education Center, with its interactive learning displays and computers set up where visitors can take the national ENERGY STAR Change a Light Pledge.
