Deliver training to members
As an industry leader, your members look to you for training and guidance to improve their operations and stay ahead of the curve. Help them by offering energy efficiency training. And don’t forget your own staff. They can help deliver consistent messaging about best practices and next steps.
Promote ENERGY STAR training resources to members
Check out EPA’s training section for ready-made materials to push out to your members. It includes a module for energy efficiency program administrators like you. Also, consider distributing the list of free webinars available from ENERGY STAR on a monthly basis to your members.
Integrate energy efficiency in existing offerings
Do you already offer professional certifications or designations? Consider integrating energy efficiency with ENERGY STAR into your existing offerings.
Develop a dedicated curriculum
Or develop your own resources and associated training curriculum to help members navigate the nuances of energy efficiency in your industry. You might survey your members first to determine where gaps exist, so you can tailor your training to fit their needs.
In addition, your members may have already developed internal training for their staff, so consider reaching out to your membership base to see if you can repackage and distribute existing materials. It’s a great way to spotlight leaders among your members, while also saving time and effort to develop all-new resources.
