America's Most Energy-Efficient Plants Part I: Cement and Glass

These slides are from the first of a three part webinar series on America's most energy-efficient manufacturing plants. During this webinar two of the nation's most energy-efficient plants, a glass plant and a cement plant, presented on what they did to improve the energy efficiency of their opeartions and earn ENERGY STAR plant certification.

Industrial Insights: Container Glass Manufacturing

This 2-page factsheet presents an overview of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from container glass plants in an easy-to-read format.

The factsheet is part of the Industrial Insights series, which uses EPA data to provide information on energy use in industrial facilities. EPA’s ENERGY STAR partnership has worked with the glass sector since 2006 to promote energy efficiency and best practices within the sector through the ENERGY STAR Glass Manufacturing Industrial Focus initiative.

Industrial Insights: Flat Glass Plants

This 2-page factsheet presents an overview of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from flat (float) glass plants in an easy-to-read format.

Flat Glass Manufacturing Plant EPI

Use this tool to determine your flat glass manufacuring plant's ENERGY STAR 1 - 100 energy performance indicator score. The Energy Peformance Indicator (EPI) will help your company improve its energy efficiency by comparing your energy performance to similar flat glass manufacturing plants in the U.S. The spreadsheet includes instructions for using the EPI, a State of Energy Performance form, and a Facility Performance Report. Manufacturing plants that earn a 75 or higher using this EPI are eligible to earn the ENERGY STAR certification for superior energy performance.
